Last Sunday we celebrated the beginning of advent by gathering in Orchard House where everyone was greeted by a big evergreen spiral and only a few lit candles. Accompanied by harp music, each person walked into the spiral to light their candle and find a place for it as they retraced their steps. By the end of the afternoon, the whole spiral was illuminated by a warm glow of over 60 candles.
A favourite event for many of us, adding lightness to the shorter days.
